Hi, welcome to my portfolio, thanks for stopping by!
My name is Sophie and I am a UX Researcher based in Chicago, IL.
As a UX researcher and strategist, I approach design problems through both a systemic and behavioral lens. One of my key strengths is the ability to move fluidly between analytical thinking and creative problem-solving, a skill shaped by my diverse background, both personally and academically. I believe that when applied thoughtfully, design can bridge gaps, dismantle silos, and spark creative solutions to complex challenges.
I'm endlessly curious about people and the patterns that connect us. I thrive when I’m learning about different cultures, languages, and life experiences. I’ve been learning French for the past year and a few months (currently on a 415-day Duolingo streak!), and I enjoy diving into history and ancient Chinese literature, which often help me better understand human behavior and my own heritage. Outside of work, you’ll find me knitting, cooking (and eating), binge-watching crime (+other drama) shows, or enjoying time with friends.
Fun fact: I double majored in human biology and animal physiology during my undergraduate studies at the University of Toronto in Canada, hoping to become an elephant care taker someday, but I'm happy I discovered my other passion in research and design.
